Halloween is coming, and what could be better than adding a little scary (but funny!) touch to your pencil ?
With this DIY project, you can transform simple pencils into original accessories with little bats made from paper and pompoms.

A quick activity to set up, ideal for a creative afternoon in October.
Materials:
Step-by-step:
Draw and cut out two bat wings from the black cardstock. Also cut out two small triangles (which will become the ears).
Cut a piece of aluminum wire (or, if you don't have any, black wool yarn that you can tie). Wrap the wire tightly around the black pompom and secure it with a loop.
Lightly bend the base of the wings and ears, add a dot of glue, then glue each part onto the pompom. Also glue the movable eyes onto the front of the pompom.
Finally, attach the bat to the top of the pencil of your choice.
This creative craft project is not only fun, it also helps develop several skills:
Fine motor skills through cutting, folding, gluing, and handling small items.
Creativity by choosing the size of the wings, the shape of the ears, or varying the colors according to your preferences.
By making an accessory related to Halloween, it can also teach us about this holiday and its origins.
