DIY – Colourful mushrooms made from coffee filters
This creative autumn activity for children is particularly suitable for the little ones. All you need is a few felt-tip pens, a coffee filter, a pipette (or, if you don’t have one, a wet paintbrush) and a piece of cardboard to create a colourful and unique mushroom.
The colours spread thanks to the drops of water on the filter, coming together and blending to create a fantastic and unique caps.
A very simple activity that allows children to explore colour mixing while developing their fine motor skills by using the pipette to drop water.
Materials:
coffee filter
felt-tip pens in various colours
pipette
glass of water
cardboard
scissors
stick of glue
black felt-tip pen
Optional: a white marker or white correction fluid to add a small highlight to the eyes
Step-by-step:
Draw shapes, lines and splashes of different colours on the coffee filter. Carry on until most of the paper is covered in colour.

Fill the pipette with a little water, then gently place a few drops onto the filter.

As the filter dries, draw a mushroom stipe on a piece of card.

Draw two eyes, a little smile and some lovely pink cheeks.
You can add a tiny white dot in each eye with a white marker to make her expression even cuter.

Cut off the stipe with a pair of scissors.

Once the coffee filter is completely dry, slide the top of the cardboard base inside the filter and glue it.
