Paper mushroom forest. A creative autumn activity for kids
Updated: Sep 21
Autumn is the perfect season to go mushroom hunting… and why not make a few of your own at home?
For this creative activity, we’ve come up with a little forest of paper mushrooms, each one different in shape and colour. It’s a fun way to explore the diversity of mushrooms whilst handling, shaping, cutting and sticking.
This autumn activity for children requires very few materials and, above all, leaves plenty of room for imagination: tiny or giant mushrooms, round or pointed caps, realistic colours or completely fantastical ones.

Use toilet papers and their cardboard roll to make an autumnal decoration.

Why do we love this activity?
As well as being a fun autumn craft, it’s a lovely way to introduce children to the diversity of the fungal world. Children can compare shapes, colours and sizes, or even create their own species.
